Early Assurance Scholars Program (ECU Brody School of Medicine)

The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T) and East Carolina University - Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) Early Assurance Scholar's Program (EASP) was developed to provide a unique opportunity for select students at NC A&T pursuing a career in medicine. Outstanding students entering NC A&T as freshmen may apply for the EASP during their senior year of high school. Eight scholars will be selected to participate in the program. The top two EASP student scholars will be guaranteed seats in the BSOM entering class, four years in advance. Provided that the program requirements are maintained, and students score at least a 1200 combined verbal and mathematics score on the SAT, the top two students will not be required to take the MCAT. Eight alternates will be chosen to participate in the program. All participants will be required to complete a ‘common curriculum track’ in order to complete all medical school requirements and be prepared to take the MCAT (if required) by the end of the junior year. The EASP is NOT discipline specific; therefore, students in all majors at NCAT may apply. For more information on the EASP, visit our website at http://ncatearlyassurance.yolasite.com/ or East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine: http://www.ecu.edu/med, or contact Dr. C. Dinitra White (cdwhite@ncat.edu).  **Please Note: Students who wish to be considered for the NC A&T Dowdy Scholarship should visit the following link: http://www.ncat.edu/admissions/financial-aid/aid/scholarships/dowdy-sch.html. Dowdy Scholarship Applications are due January 15 prior to the fall semester that students will enter as new freshman (e.g., January 15, 2013 for Fall 2013).
