Message from Chairperson, Dr. Lisa Gueldenzoph Snyder
Welcome to the website of the Department of Business Education, one of five departments in the School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University. The links at the right provide information about each of our programs, but please contact me personally to discuss any of your questions or concerns.
You will find our highly qualified faculty on the cutting-edge of our profession. We hold prominent positions in national academic organizations, publish research in peer-reviewed journals, and serve our community through a wide variety of activities. Our campus facilities are excellent, and our classrooms have the most current teaching resources and technology to support active and engaging educational experiences. Additionally, our students have an exceptional record of success with the Praxis II exam with a 98% pass rate in the last 10 years. We offer two undergraduate degrees and one graduate degree, described below.
Bachelor of Science Degrees:
The Business Teacher Education program offers concentrations in computer technology, economics, and marketing. Each of these prepares you to teach business education at the middle and secondary levels (grades 6-12). This program is available online as well as in the traditional classroom environment.
Our Information Technology (IT) program prepares you for end-user technology positions in business and industry. In this major, you can tailor the focus of your degree by selecting IT electives from a wide variety of options including software systems, networking, security, and animation/graphics. The IT program is not yet available online.
Master of Arts (MAT) Degree:
Our MAT in Business Education program welcomes candidates who hold degrees in a business discipline and wish to enter the teaching profession as business educators. Specific admission criteria, program requirements, and curriculum guides are available at the links to the right.
