Aggie Pride! Worldwide! Study Abroad Programs at A&T

Founded in March 2000, the Office of International Programs (OIP) is committed to providing  opportunities for  NC A&T students to spend a semester, summer, or academic year studying in another country.

Where Can I Study?

OIP offers options at over 200 universities in nearly 60 countries! Visit our interactive map to explore where you can study.

Destinations where Aggies have studied during the 2013-2014 year include:
Asia: China (Hong Kong), Japan
Africa: Ghana, Morocco
Europe: Germany, Italy, Cyprus, England (UK), Spain, Belgium, Scotland (UK)
Central/South America: Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica
North America & the Caribbean: Canada, Jamaica
Middle East: United Arab Emirates
Oceania: Australia

How Do I Pay for Study Abroad?

Good news! Students can use their financial aid package (loans, grants) and scholarships to finance their experience overseas. Students are encouraged to apply for the OIP Travel Grant and to apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Visit our financial aid and scholarships resource section for additional information on financing your experience abroad.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Students can study abroad as a sophomore, junior, or first semester senior. Students must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA for semester programs, and a 2.5 cumulative GPA for summer programs.

Graduate students are also eligible to study abroad. Students cannot study abroad their last semester at NC A&T or as a second-semester freshman. Transfer students must earn an NC A&T GPA before studying abroad.

Can Any Major Study Abroad?

Yes! OIP has sent students abroad from each of the eight schools or colleges at NCAT.

But I’m Not Fluent in A Second Language? Is Study Abroad for Me?

Study abroad is for every student! There are many options where you can study in English—even in countries where English is not the native language. In addition, many Aggies study abroad to learn a foreign language.
