Meet the Staff
Dr. Mike Cundall, Honors Director
Dr. Mike Cundall, Dr. Mike to his students, comes to North Carolina A&T State University from his previous post as assistant director of the Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University in Louisiana. He obtained his PhD. in Philosophy and the Sciences from the University of Cincinnati and his bachelor's in Philosophy and Psychology with a classics minor from the University of Kentucky. As a philosopher his research focuses on the philosophy of psychology, philosophy of mind and cognitive science. He is particularly interested in the issues of reductionism and cognition more generally. He also has research interests in the philosophy of science relative to explanation, causation and the special sciences and causation. His final area of research is humor, specifically the cognition and recognition of humor and the propriety of racist and ethnic humor. He is currently beginning a research project into the perception of humor in naturalistic environments.
Sandrea Williamson, Assistant Director
Sandrea T. Williamson is a native of Columbia, S.C.. She earned a bachelor or arts degree from Johnson C. Smith University and earned a masters degree in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also taught at the University of Illinois. She studied for the doctorate in History at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. In 1978 she and her husband accepted faculty appointments at N.C. A&T where they have continuously taught for more than 30 years.
Darrell L. Hairston, Academic Program Coordinator
Darrell L. Hairston currently works at N.C. A&T as the retention coordinator for the Aggie Freshman Academic Success Program. In addition to the program's duties, he works with Honors students with the graduate school application process, interviewing skills and career development. Darrell received his masters of arts and educational specialist degrees in Community Agency Counseling from James Madison University. He received a bachelors of science in psychology from Radford University.
Anna Whiteside, Scholarship Coordinator
Anna Whiteside is the scholarship coordinator for the Honors Program. She joins us from University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where she taught composition, literature and creative writing in addition to serving as an academic advisor. She has master of fine arts in Creative Writing from UNCG and a bachelor of arts in English and film studies from the University of Georgia.
Sherri A. Kendall, Administrative Support Associate
Sherri A. Kendall is a graduate of N.C. A&T with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. She is a native of Fayetteville, N.C. and lived and worked in several cities in California before returning to the A&T. She likes to sing, plays several musical instruments and is very active in her local church. She loves children and young people and she is a valued member of the praise team at her church. Ms. Kendall became the administrative associate for the program in October 2004.
