The Department offers two areas of study: Business Teacher
Education and Information
Technology. The Business Teacher Education Program offers five
concentrations: Computer
Technology,
Economics, English,
Marketing, and Mathematics. Each of these prepares you to teach
business education at the secondary level
(Grades 6-12). The
Information Technology program prepares you for end-user technology
positions in business and industry.
The Business Teacher
Education program is available online as well as in the traditional
classroom. The Information Technology
program is not yet
available online. The Department is also delighted to announce
its new MAT Program (Master of Arts in
Teaching) and welcomes
candidates who hold degrees in a business discipline and wish
to prepare to enter the teaching profession
as business educators.
We offer you a highly qualified faculty, with eight out of
nine holding doctoral degrees and over 60 years of teaching
experience among us. Our campus facilities are excellent and
our classrooms have the most current high-tech equipment that
our faculty members use to support teaching and learning. We
have an excellent record of success with the Praxis II exam—over
98% passing in the last 10 years. Look for our faculty in the
professional literature. You will find that we are on the cutting-edge
of our profession.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Web site. We offer
outstanding opportunities for undergraduate and graduate education
and hope that you will consider joining us.
Sincerely,

Beryl C. McEwen, PhD
