Thessalenuere Hinnant-Bernard
Housing Research Scientist / Assistant Professor 
Research: Exploration of social and economic aspects of housing and consumer issues including housing policy, housing discrimination, housing & rural development, homebuyer/owner education, housing for special needs populations & housing finance. My current research focuses on consumer satisfaction of manufactured homeowners in rural North Carolina. Other research endeavors include an analysis of HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) data and predatory and subprime lending in North Carolina.

Outreach and Associations: Has performed outreach in the areas of Healthy Homes, Lead-Based Paint Education, Public Housing Youth Programs, Habitat for Humanity, and Homebuyer Education.

Member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, American Sociological Association, & Housing Education and Research Association (Board Member).

Teaching: Contemporary Housing, Housing Environments for Families, Housing Finance, Housing & Services for Special Needs Populations, Introduction to Research Methods, Housing/Family Policy, & Family Financial Planning.
