Frequently Asked Questions
What does my gift support?
Your gift to the North Carolina A & T State University Annual Giving Campaign provides direct support for academic programs in the various Schools and Colleges, scholarships, computer and laboratory upgrades, teaching and research awards, the library, athletics and alumni services such as the A&T Today, reunion activities, and operational support. Annual Giving also provides support for the senior class, faculty/staff, and our volunteer committees.
A & T is a state-supported institution, so why are gifts needed?
A&T receives funds from three sources: tuition, appropriations for the state’s budget, and private support. Though tuition and state monies provide a large part of the university’s operating budget, there are always more needs than those two sources can supply—especially much needed scholarship dollars. Annual gifts meet crucial academic needs that otherwise would simply go unmet.
Why are unrestricted gifts so important?
Because an unrestricted gift can be used wherever the need is greatest. A gift to your college’s Jane Doe Scholarship must be used to fund that scholarship—even if the college doesn’t have enough lab supplies, computers, or books for this semester’s classes. Unrestricted gifts allow the university the most flexibility for the most pressing needs.
May I specify how my gift is to be used?
Absolutely! You may be a general as for academic programs or as specific as for the Library and almost anywhere in between.
Can I make my gift online?
Yes! Make a gift now. It’s quick and easy and starts helping A&T immediately! You may any of the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover.
Why do you call me every year?
The Aggie Phonathon Center gives students an opportunity to thank donors personally for their financial support and ask them to continue that support. The students also provide information about A&T events and update your records. Our students enjoy talking with you and we hope you enjoy talking with them. |
